Daniel is the founder and Director of Priestleys having established the firm in 2007. Daniel has extensive experience with all aspects of corporate and commercial law and Cayman Islands regulatory matters and is one of the island's leading property attorneys.

Daniel is the founder of Priestleys, having established the firm in 2007. Daniel qualified as an English Solicitor at the City of London firm, Simmons and Simmons in 1995, and also worked at Denton Wilde Sapte before moving to the Cayman Islands in 1999 to join the Business Law Group at Ogier. During his time there, He led the local practice team and, after 2001, devoted the majority of his time to investment funds work. He has established a reputation for excellence by leveraging his experience from an unusually broad practice and combining that with diligence, responsiveness and an eye for the practical. He seeks to understand and meet each client’s objectives, whether business or personal, in order to deliver a solution for each legal problem and add value. He has a wide ranging practice which has particular focus on infrastructure projects and investment funds but which also includes all aspects of real estate law, corporate and commercial law, banking and finance, inward investment in the Cayman Islands, immigration and private client.

Daniel is particularly well known for his expertise in commercial property and has advised various parties involved in a number major infrastructure projects in the Cayman Islands, such as the redevelopment of the George Town Port, the redevelopment of a number of strata plans, the hospital project in East End, the establishment of enterprise zones and the development and letting of a number of retail and office developments. In terms of investment funds, Daniel advises in connection with the establishment, maintenance, regulation and dissolution of many regulated mutual funds structured as corporations, unit trusts and partnerships, as well as private equity funds and offshore vehicles for onshore businesses, particularly as lead counsel but also in co-operation with onshore counsel in a number of other jurisdictions, especially the United States.

Daniel has advised in connection with listings on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange and the Irish Stock Exchange. Daniel regularly advises as to the establishment and operation of businesses which trade in the Cayman Islands, including the formation of the trading entity, licensing and regulation. Daniel is a Notary Public in and for the Cayman Islands, a member of the Caymanian Bar Association and a director of PA Corporate Services Limited.
